Doctor of Physical Therapy, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT)
Black Sheep Physical Therapy was built to solve a problem I experienced firsthand: inadequate care that treats symptoms without addressing root causes.
Throughout my athletic career and early professional life, I dealt with my own injuries. I saw multiple healthcare providers—physical therapists, chiropractors, doctors—without real improvement. The appointments were rushed. I saw different providers each visit. And my pain persisted.
That frustration became my mission: create a clinic where patients receive the time, expertise, and comprehensive care they actually need to get better.
I grew up locally in Fredericktown, Ohio, and attended Northmor High School before pursuing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Findlay. During my time at Findlay, I competed as a collegiate wrestler and worked as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) under Chad Wagner, training high-level athletes—including several who went on to compete professionally.
But my education didn't stop with my doctorate.
Driven by my mission to provide exceptional care, I completed the rigorous path to becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT)—a distinction held by fewer than 6% of physical therapists in the United States.
This advanced fellowship required years of coursework, hands-on clinical training, and comprehensive examinations in manual therapy techniques. It represents the highest level of specialization available to physical therapists in orthopedic and manual therapy.
Beyond my FAAOMPT fellowship, I hold certifications in:
The same adjustment techniques performed by chiropractors, allowing me to address joint restrictions without requiring a referral to another provider.
Precision needle technique for releasing trigger points and reducing chronic pain.
Advanced diagnostic approach to identifying the root cause of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
Specialized technique for building strength during rehabilitation when heavy loading isn't possible.
I built Black Sheep PT because I believe patients deserve better than the standard 15-minute appointment model. Recovery takes time. Understanding your condition takes time. Effective treatment requires continuity of care with the same provider who knows your history and tracks your progress.
When you come to Black Sheep PT, you get a doctor who understands pain from personal experience, trained at the highest level available (FAAOMPT), with access to every treatment modality you might need—all under one roof.
You receive 60-90 minute sessions where I personally evaluate you, treat you, and adjust your plan as you progress. No rotating therapists. No rushed appointments. No referrals to other providers. Just comprehensive, individualized care focused on finding and fixing the root cause of your problem.
I'm a lifelong resident of the Galion area and remain connected to the local community. My background as an athlete and strength coach gives me unique insight into sports injuries, performance optimization, and the demands athletes face during rehabilitation.
